Recognizing the immense potential of the Colombian cannabis market due to friendly regulations, ideal growing conditions, and low-cost operations, Green Point Hemp added operations in the South American country in late 2018. As one of the few countries in the world that permits the exportation of all types of cannabis seeds and cannabis-derived products, Colombia was a natural fit for the expansion of Green Point’s hemp operations.
Led by Colombian partners Camilo Martinez and Felipe Robayo, Green Point Hemp has applied for licensure and registered 20 of its cultivars for production within Colombia, beginning certification of the first 10 via a partnership with one of Colombia’s leading tissue culture and germplasm banks, Agroidea. Further, we have secured locations for seed production, outdoor cultivation, and manufacturing of cannabis-derived products. Farming operations are expected to begin in late 2019.
