Green Point Research 2020 Year in Review

January 1, 2021 – Jasper, FL – Green Point Research (GPR), an international phytocannabinoid-rich hemp biomass originator and processor, entered its fourth year of business in 2020. Even though the year served up a global pandemic, the company garnered numerous cornerstone accomplishments solidifying its status as a top hemp company.  It was a building year with significant investment in infrastructure and capabilities that took the company from start up to a growth phase business.

See above for visual 2020 Hemp Overview and read the details below.

Early in the year, the company expanded through its strategic hires that included a chief science officerdirector of plant sciences, and chief marketing officer. Each of the new employees bring significant experience, connectivity, and relevant industry knowledge to the company.

The company demonstrated its solid reputation as a quality genetics provider and biotechnology innovator.  In May, Green Point was granted approval of its seed import, export, and commercialization licenses in Colombia marking an important point in its international expansion efforts. Three months later, there were a total of five approved CBD seeds included in the official Colombia approvals. Domestic approval on genetics for cultivation also happened in 2020 with the State of Florida’s official pilot project approval.

As the company took steps to grow, it also collaborated with supply chain partners to provide thought leadership and catalyze growth of the legal cannabis industry. One example of this collaboration was highlighted in June 2020, as Palmetto Industries announced its new industrial hemp storage bag.  The innovative bags were designed in collaboration with Green Point’s chief science officer, Matt Turner, and were created to be mold and mildew resistant, therefore reducing potential waste.

Farmers need an efficient, readily accessible supply chain to be successful with their crops. Many do not have the resources to invest in large-scale agriculture infrastructure such as drying equipment. In order to serve the needs of its farmers and the industry, Green Point acquired industrial hemp drying equipment in order to offer Florida’s largest scale industrial hemp drying services to farmers. Over four input tons of hemp can be dried per hour because of the investment.

The company yielded around half of Floridas legally harvested hemp acres in 2020.  The results of the successful investments in infrastructure, research and development, and human capital demonstrated strong return later in the year when the company gathered the State of Florida’s Largest Legal Hemp Harvest, announced the acquisition of its new 32-acre Cannabis Center of Excellence, and launched a new Satividol CBD product.

Stay tuned to hear more about progress toward ambitious 2021 corporate goals.
